Ultimate Chicken Sandwich

Crispy Waitoa Garlic Butter Kievs tucked into fresh bread with all your favourite fillings. One bite releases a burst of rich, buttery garlic that fills the room with an irresistible aroma.

Ingredients

  • 1 x Waitoa Chicken Kiev w/Garlic butter.
  • 2 x slices of good quality bread. Sourdough loaf works well. (Make sure the bread is thick enough to hold the sandwich)
  • 2 x cups rocket
  • ½ cup grated Edam cheese (or cheese of your choice)
  • 2 x tbsp hummus
  • ½ Avocado
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

 

Method

  • Begin by cooking your Waitoa Chicken Kiev as per packaging.
  • 5 minutes before ready, remove from the oven and sprinkle your grated edam cheese on top.
  • Place back in the oven until the cheese is melted and starting to bubble.
  • Slice your bread and set aside.
  • Mash your ½ avocado with salt, pepper and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  • Once the Kiev is cooked through and the cheese has melted, remove from the oven.
  • Starting assembling your sandwich.
  • Spread a thick layer of hummus on the bottom slice of bread.
  • Top with a cup of rocket.
  • Add your chicken Kiev on top of the rocket carefully assuring you do not burn yourself on the melted cheese.
  • Top the Kiev with the remaining rocket.
  • Spread the top layer of bread with your avocado mix.
  • Finish assembling your sandwich.
  • Serve with gherkins, crisps, or extra salad

** Be aware when cutting through the Kiev as the inside is very hot**
