- 1 x pack Waitoa chicken burgers
- 8 x slices bacon
- ½ cup white and ½ cup red cheese
For cream cheese filling:
- 1 x cup lite cream cheese
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried dill
- ½ teaspoon dried chives
For garnish:
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Sliced green scallions
- Preheat oven to 200c
- In a baking dish, line with baking paper and add the Waitoa chicken burgers evenly spaced and cook to instructions.
- While burgers are cooking, heat your frying pan over medium-high heat and add the 8 slices of bacon. Cook until crispy.
- Remove bacon from pan and set aside. Once cooled slightly, chop into rough slices.
- Next, in a small bowl, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dill and chives. Mix well until thoroughly combined. Taste and adjust accordingly to taste.
- Remove the chicken burgers from the oven.
- Top each chicken burger with 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Spread roughly to coat the surface of each.
- Take half of the diced bacon and place on top of the cream cheese over each chicken burger.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese mixture over each of the burgers.
- From here, place the pan back into the oven. Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven.
- Garnish with remaining bacon, fresh parsley, and chopped spring onions.
- Sprinkle it with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve with your choice of rice, salad or roast veggies.
