Ingredients

  • 1 x pack Waitoa chicken burgers
  • 8 x slices bacon
  • ½ cup white and ½ cup red cheese

For cream cheese filling:

  • 1 x cup lite cream cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried chives

For garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Sliced green scallions

Method

  • Preheat oven to 200c
  • In a baking dish, line with baking paper and add the Waitoa chicken burgers evenly spaced and cook to instructions.
  • While burgers are cooking, heat your frying pan over medium-high heat and add the 8 slices of bacon. Cook until crispy.
  • Remove bacon from pan and set aside. Once cooled slightly, chop into rough slices.
  • Next, in a small bowl, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dill and chives. Mix well until thoroughly combined. Taste and adjust accordingly to taste.
  • Remove the chicken burgers from the oven.
  • Top each chicken burger with 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Spread roughly to coat the surface of each.
  • Take half of the diced bacon and place on top of the cream cheese over each chicken burger.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese mixture over each of the burgers.
  • From here, place the pan back into the oven. Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven.
  • Garnish with remaining bacon, fresh parsley, and chopped spring onions.
  • Sprinkle it with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve with your choice of rice, salad or roast veggies.

Enjoy and serve with your choice of salad, roast veges or pasta.
